Pixelmator by The Pixelmator Team
Pixelmator is the latest photo editor for iOS, offering what could very well be the ideal iPhoto replacement. Pixelmator, originally designed for the Mac, offers some of the same advanced features, but specifically designed for a tablet interface. The most noticeable features of Pixelmator include the use of the drop down inspector window (similar to Apple’s iWork applications) for project and tool adjustments, including the ability to add and control images, text, and various vector graphics. Unlike most photo editors, Pixelmator offers plenty of paint brush options, distinguishing the app as both an editor and creation tool. The app syncs with iCloud and makes use of the “hand-off” feature when switching to a Mac. Check out our review on YouTube.

iColorama by Katerina Alieksieienko
iColorama by Katerina Alieksieienko is an excellent photo editor for adding a wide range of filters, effects, and adjustments. Each effect includes advanced adjustment tools, such as, saturation, exposure, masking, and zoom. iColorama will also give you the option to import and export your projects in a high resolution format, a feature that many photo editors lack. Most of the menu options come with presets on the right side to initiate your selections, and a tool bar along the bottom allows for further refinements. iColorama is designed for the iPhone and iPad.
Ultralight by Tim Koponen
Ultralight by Timi Koponen provides excellent tools for making adjustments to your photos and adding a variety of filters, effects, and adjustments. The application's most distinguishing feature is the use of small circles positioned on the top of your photos, which correspond with the menu of controls along the bottom. The circles move up, down, across, and in circular patterns to control the amount of the effect you want to add. The user interface is smooth and intuitive.
