Spout by David Fumberger
Spout by David Fumberger is an application for iOS and the Mac that enables you to display animated text; it's like a digital sign board for social media. With Spout, you can add your Twitter and Facebook feeds, and the information appears in the form of animated graphics - text and images.
Content
In addition to adding Twitter and Facebook feeds, you can also add key word search items for Twitter and Flickr. You can also add customized text. With the latter, each body of text is added on a separate line and the information is presented like a separate feed. When displaying feeds, you also have the option to show images and text, or just text.
Adjustments
Spout offers a lot of flexibility for customization. You can cycle through posts, show latest feeds, or show them randomly. You can choose to present posts with no wait time in between, or set each post to appear for 2 seconds, 5 seconds, one minute, and so on. Animation can also be kinetic, random, or static, and word speed can be fast, medium, or slow.
Where and How to use Spout
The sky is the limit in terms of how you choose to use Spout. You can view animated posts for your personal pleasure on your iOS devices or Mac, or you can can chose to display Spout on monitors as a digital sign board. This would work great with airplay, if you chose to mirror your iPad or would work great with an HD monitor and an Apple TV.
Spout was available for $1.99 in iTunes and $3.99 in the Mac App Store.
